AT FIRST GLANCE
The At First Glance series evolved from my
interest in surface textures. Tightly framed by the lens, each image
accentuates the variations of shapes and bands of colors affected by light,
friction of wear, oxidation, et. al.
Utilizing epoxy and various surface materials, from sawdust to ash,
another layer is employed over the"surface"
photograph. Affixing this additional "surface" serves to enhance the nuances of each image.
Hence, this methodology results in creating dynamic compositions that can be
experienced sculpturally.
